I have a fairly basic algorithm for playing NF Efficiency which is available on the Javascript solver. One thing it doesn't do yet is play an optimal opening. Mainly because I can't decide whether win rate is important or the least number of clicks to win. Below the same 200,000 games are played using two starting strategies. 1) Guess the middle tile. if not an opening then resign the game. If it is an opening then open the four corners. 187,929 games fail to get past the opening strategy. 17 games won with 100% efficiency from 159 wins out of 200,000 played, clicks 767,977. Clicks/eff100 = 45,175 100% Efficiency rate = 0.0085% (1 in 11,765 games) 2) Guess the 4 corners. 100,311 games fail to get past the opening strategy. 45 games won with 100% efficiency from 740 wins out of 200,000 played, clicks 3,471,943 Clicks/eff100 = 77,154 100% Efficiency rate = 0.0225 (1 in 4,444)
