Mathematician (Probability calculus, Fourier transforms). IT specialist. Perfectionist. Introvert. Sociopath. Minesweeper amateur and former champion since early 1990:s (Win 3.1 era).
“Karhu” means “bear” in Finnish. I am a calm adult, a complete pacifist. I dislike the comparison that Minesweeper is the game with a naval battleship. My fantasy of this game is completely different: I would like to imagine that I am walking in a beautiful natural garden with flowers, full of thorny hedgehogs hiding everywhere (stepping on a hedgehog is very painful, isn't it?). And my botanist intuition helps me know how many hedgehogs are hiding nearby. :-)
Registered on this website in 2018 or 2019, got all possible achievements in a few months, and retired for several years.
In 2024 I decided to remember my childhood and became active again. I suddenly had free time when I couldn't work because I broke my leg and finger while skiing, but I was forced to play with my left hand for three months. Fortunately, I am now completely healthy and can work normally. By the way, thanks to my wife for the new gaming mouse, Logitech G903. The results have become noticeably better.
I love playing in calm and slow manner, enjoying simultaneously a cup of coffee or tea with my favourite blueberry jam.
I categorically don't like playing for speed (despite the fact that I CAN and know how to do it) and all kinds of ratings. The game should be relaxing.
I would prefer to live in a slow sort of country. But, HERE, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that! (q) Queen and Alice.
My favourite kinds of games here are high difficulty, high density and high efficiency games (some times also no flagging games, but high efficiency are more preferable). My brain works like a computing machine, I see all probable mine locations after a few clues are available.
Also big thanks to the website authors for the Evil NG mode – it is good for beginners to train their skills to see complex combinations quickly, which could look irresolvable without such kind of training. Unfortunately, I find this mode boring at the moment, as I have known all these combinations by heart for a long time.
What I don't like among the quests on this website: a boring sCrap like "Win 100-500 Beginner games during the day". Who are those people who like dumb clicking all the day on obvious boards?!

Some of my strange and cucumbersome achievements.

My first sapphire on a beginner board after 6 years of playing on this website: https://minesweeper.online/new-game?g=4265270864 (that was a left-handed play).
Really, I have never seen them before!

PS. What I don't like on this website that appeared here during my inactivity period between 2020 and 2023, is the game-in-game with dumb grinding and resource farming. Experience, minecoins, gems, arena coins, machinery equipment, upgrading, boosting, etc. – why did all this complexity appear?! Minesweeper itself is a nice mathematical puzzle game which is beautiful in its simple rules but complex combinations. Everything other than this is absolutely unnecessary!
Also, I think the rating system here is completely unfair. What the first I saw here after interrupting my inactivity period and playing a few hundreds of boards, is the website offer to buy (for the real money!) an "unlimited turbo boost" that adds 100% to game rewards (experience, honour points and coins). Taking into account that a huge part of quests influencig the rating is something like to earn NNNN coins and experience points in games, a paid player will always be higher in the rating than the unpaid same-skilled one.
Let's imagine if in the UEFA European Football Championship a team has paid several million Euros to referees for an "unlimited turbo boost" that gives twice more points for each goal, what results would we have? Nonsense, is not it? Soccer has never been so fun!
After that, just playing for fun here, not interested in rating at all.
